The Time Will Never Be Perfect

I talk to A LOT of people...like A LOT! I could be endorsed on Linkedin for "talking to strangers"! I'm fascinated by people, their lives, their ideas, their challenges and how they approach them.

One thing that sticks out among all the things I've learned in these conversations is how many people are just waiting for the right time to take action!

"We're gonna take the big trip....once the kids are older."

"I'm going to start therapy....when things calm down"

"I'm burnt out and need a break...but work is crazy right now!!!"

And so it goes...we keep pushing off the things we want to do in sake of the things we think we need to do. We tell ourselves that the time will eventually be perfect...that somehow we will have just the right amount of money, the time will be just right, the calendar will magically align and we will totally feel less stressed and overworked....We tell ourselves stories to support these decisions all the time...old stories that no longer serve us...

"I mean I can't quit my job because I'm lucky to be employed."

"If I just work harder things will get easier."

"Thing will calm down when the kids are older."

"Once I close this deal, I'll have enough money."

"I'm just too busy to take time for myself."

Spoiler alert...it's kinda all b.s....we can tell ourselves whatever we want to justify putting things off but at the end of the day...it's more risky to NOT take action than taking a step towards it.

Today, there have never been more ways to earn a living (and it's changing everyday), we have more opportunities and flexibility than ever before and in my opinion there has never been a better time to ask yourself what do I even want anymore...take some time to explore it and then go get it.

Your work doesn't need to be stressful

Your life doesn't have to be rushed

Your calendar doesn't need to be full everyday

Your relationships don't need to be confusing

and Your money doesn't have to be a fear

BUT

You have to take time to slow down and think about what you want

You have to be honest with yourselves and your loved ones

You have to let go of what got you here in service of what can be

You have to realize a lot of people are running a race that you didn't sign up for...

So if you're reading this and curious OR if you're reading this and think I'm full of sh#t consider this... if you woke up tomorrow and only had a year left to live would you keep doing what you're doing?

"A healthy man has 1,000 wishes, a sick man only has one..."

If the answer is YES, congrats you are moving through life with purpose, clarity and meaning. If the answer is NO then the next move is with you...either way give yourself some grace and have a smooth morning...
