I Was Literally Throwing Away Pies
A few days ago I was cleaning out the fridge and threw away an entire homemade sweet potato pie. The funny part? Just a week earlier I was so excited to make it. That morning I'd been feeling overwhelmed. Work. Parenting. Life. My brain was running through all the usual stories..."I'm not doing enough." "I should be further along." Then I looked down at the pie. And I realized... If I'm fortunate enough to be throwing away homemade pie... Life is probably pretty good. Nothing

Sometimes We Just Need Space
In April 2026, a group of strangers gathered together in Michigan for my first Room to Think Retreat. And honestly… that’s exactly what we needed. Just space to slow down. Space to process what’s going on in our lives, careers, relationships, and minds. Space to notice what’s serving us, what we need to let go of, and what moving forward might look like with clarity. Over a day and a half by the lake, we shared meals from a private chef, had honest conversations, reflected to

There Is No Race
Sorry for the quick email but this thing hit me like a ton of bricks this morning! I just observe people rushing everywhere and it makes ME anxious! "Can't talk...gotta run!" "Ugh...I'm in back to back meetings all day!" "Maybe we can get the families together in... November?" "We'll be outta town all weekend for my 6 year olds travel hockey tournament....guess this is my life now?!" WTF? Why is everyone so rushed? Just running in all directions at once and actually achievin

You’re Not Behind
Scrolling through social media can make it seem like everyone else is accomplishing amazing things 24/7. Someone’s launching a new product, someone’s renovating their house, someone’s running a marathon etc. When that’s all you see, it’s natural to think, “I’m behind.” Here’s what we don’t see: their rough drafts, the days when nothing works, the doubt, the second‑guessing, the nights they stay up worrying. Everyone has those....some people just hide them better. You’re not b

The Blue Sky Is Always There
Over a decade ago I downloaded the Headspace app for meditation. Back then a cartoon played that explained mindfulness beautifully and to this day it is the best explanation I have come across! Think of a perfect blue sky day; the sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky, you hear the birds chirping etc! Now think of a dark stormy day; dark clouds, loud thunder, you can't see the sun or hear the birds...you get it right? The key is that even on the dark cloudy day...the blue s

Hey Hey...It’s Marc!
A lot of people wake up and are like “is this really what I’m supposed to be doing?” “ugh… work is draining.” “everything just feels like a lot right now…” That messy middle… most of us hit it. That’s where I come in. I help people slow it down… make sense of it… and find a little clarity. If someone came to mind (or maybe it’s you) feel free to send this their way or hit me up. I’m sharing more of this kind of work here. If it’s helpful, I’m glad you’re here. "Appreciate you

The Time Will Never Be Perfect
I talk to A LOT of people...like A LOT! I could be endorsed on Linkedin for "talking to strangers"! I'm fascinated by people, their lives, their ideas, their challenges and how they approach them. One thing that sticks out among all the things I've learned in these conversations is how many people are just waiting for the right time to take action! "We're gonna take the big trip....once the kids are older." "I'm going to start therapy....when things calm down" "I'm burnt out

Just Take Notice
The goal isn’t a calm mind… It’s noticing your mind. For a long time, I thought the point of meditation was to feel calm… clear… peaceful. Like I was supposed to “win” the morning. Now I see it differently. Most mornings I wake up… make a cup of coffee… sit in a quiet room… and just notice. What thoughts are showing up… What patterns are repeating… How I’m actually feeling. Some days it’s calm. Some days it’s chaos. But the win isn’t changing it. The win is noticing it. Becau

Get Lost
Last week I went to see the jam band Phish with my older brother...he has seen them well over 80 times! When we were kids we'd go see the Grateful Dead...ALOT! I started going to Dead shows when I was in 8th grade...it's where I learned to get lost. Lost in the music, lost in the parking lot after party (Shakedown Street), lost in a new city, lost from my friends....just lost. Getting lost is awesome...it's healthy...it's good for you...it allows you to lose focus for a bit.

Less Is More
Everywhere you look someone is telling you to do more and it ends up making you feel behind. Eat this diet, get this much sleep, use more AI in your work, grow your career, get more followers, work on this! It's just too much! In my experience, there is a time for more and a time for less and the biggest impact on my life comes when I do less.... When I slow down, when I take time and space to think, to release the pressure valve of my mind and my heart I see the biggest impa
